Welcome to Class 6
Mrs King is teaching Class 6, with Mrs Jarvis, Mrs Grant, Mrs Rowbottom and Miss Taylor.
We’re going to be pretty busy, stretching and exercising our brains in Class 6 throughout the year…
Welcome to the Autumn term! Our topic for this term is 'World Wars' and we will be using the book 'War Horse' by Michael Morpurgo to enhance our work.
PE lessons will swimming on Mondays and gymnastics on a TUESDAY afternoon; please make sure children have the appropriate kit for these days.
Spellings will be given out on a Friday, and should be practised every day at home. They will be tested on the following Friday, alongside our timestables through the use of 'Froggy Maths'. ALL children are expected to practice both their spellings and timestables at home EVERYDAY, as this makes an enormous difference to their work.
ALL children are expected to read at home EVERY DAY and we would like adults at home to listen to them read aloud AT LEAST FOUR TIMES each week. This makes an enormous difference to their success with both Reading and Writing. We will let you know if your child's reading or spelling is falling behind where it should be in order that you can help them to catch up through extra work at home.
In the next few weeks, children will receive their CGP homework revision books. These will be used as homework every week, in part of the preparation for SATs week which will commence 13th May.
Thank you for your support!
