Learning
How do you share information about learning? |
Each term we send a copy of what your child will be learning before it is posted on the website. Learning is also shared via the online platform, 'Seesaw, which is where home learning tasks are set. Your child will have their own log in code for this. As well, children will have access to an online reading programme called, 'Reading Eggs' and a times tables programme called, 'TTrockstars.' They each have individual log ins which your child will be given. Finally, children will bring their reading books home each night and we expect children to read daily, with a record written by their parent or carer, in their reading diary.
If you have any questions about what your child is learning please contact them via the school office and they will come back to you.
Are there any useful programmes that my child can use at home? |
Yes there are. In particular we would recommend these free websites:
BBC Bitesize - for ages 3-11. This has a range of reading, writing , maths and other subjects and learning takes place via games, quizzes and films.
British Council Learn English Kids - for children who speak English as an Additional Language. This is focused on speaking and listening, reading, writing and maths and is tailored to support children who speak a language other than English at home. There is a great free app that accompanies this website.
Oxford Owl - for ages 3-11. This website has a huge range of books, all of which can be read aloud, translated and shared.
