At St Thomas Cantilupe Nursery we will make every effort to meet children’s needs and promote their welfare. We provide activities and play opportunities to develop children’s emotional, physical, social and intellectual capabilities.
Curriculum planning will be prepared according to your child’s interests. The planning will incorporate the Early Years Foundation Stage under the following themes:#

Children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving and secure relationships with parents and / or key person.

Enabling Environments
The environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children’s development and learning.

Children learn and develop in different ways and at different rates and all areas of learning and development are equally important and inter-connected.

 

Play helps young children to learn and develop through doing and talking, which research has shown to be the means by which young children think. St Thomas Cantilupe Nursery uses the early years learning goals to plan and provide a range of play activities which help the children to make progress in each of the areas of learning and development. In some of these activities the children will decide how they will use the activity and, in others the adult takes the lead in helping the children to take part in the activity.
