Early Years and Nursery
|Early Years Foundation Stage|
Welcome to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), which is how the Government and early years professionals describe the time in your child’s life between birth and age 5. This is a very important stage as it helps your child get ready for school as well as preparing them for their future learning and successes. From when your child is born up until the age of 5, their early years experience should be happy, active, exciting, fun and secure; and support their development, care and learning needs.
'My son and daughter attended STC Nursery for 2½ years. They loved their time at nursery and were always excited to go. The staff are welcoming and friendly and kept me well informed about how my children were getting on. There were so many opportunities for the children to experience a wide range of activities and this helped to prepare them to start their school journey where they have both gone on to make excellent progress. I would highly recommend this nursery.'

St Thomas Cantilupe, nursery and reception classes work closely together to provide an inclusive, challenging and stimulating environment in which the children are able to thrive and develop as individuals. Our pupils' experiences during their time in the early years foundation stage equip them with the skills needed to make the best start to their educational journey.
