'Shine Bright Your Light'
Matthew 5: 14-15
Our vision is at our core. It underpins our daily practice and leads us to expect and value the shining light from everyone in our school.
Our Christian Values
For 2019-20 we have decided to focus on 6 values. These have been chosen to link to parts of the year, to our school and to our future. They are:
We will learn about our values during worship, class time, playtime and with our friends, teachers and families. We will show our values towards one another.
Our school history and ethos
Our school is at the very heart of Hereford city and is over 100 years old. The school was originally built as Hereford’s grammar school for girls before being included in the Diocese, as a church school, some decades later. In 1984 the school became St Thomas Cantilupe CE Primary School.
Our school today
We are a one form entry school that welcomes children to become part of our special family. As a small city school we get to know each of our children very well, with many returning as parents and even grandparents themselves! We are proud of our high quality nursery which offers places for children from 2 to 4 years old.
We are within walking distance of the city centre, the historic heart of Hereford, enabling visits to the Cathedral, the Black and White House, the Library, the Courtyard Theatre and the River Wye.
The school values its Church status and has strong links with St Peters and All Saints Church as well as with Hereford Cathedral.
Our curriculum is exciting, enriched with an emphasis on Art and Design. We have our own specialist Art teacher and studio at St Thomas Cantilupe.
We want every child who comes to our school to find out who they are, what they can do and what their light will be. We will teach children to work hard, to think for themselves and to care for one another and their world.
