Class 5

Welcome to Class 5 with Miss Hudson, Mrs Mulloy and Mrs Gaye mail

Summer Term

We’re going to be pretty busy, stretching and exercising our brains in Class 5 throughout the year… smiley

Welcome to the Autumn Term! Our topic for this term is 'World War' and we will be exploring a variety of aspects of both World War 1 with our class book being War Horse.

This term our PE lessons will be on a MONDAY with a coach doing cricket and tennis with a coach on a THURSDAY afternoon; please make sure children have the appropriate kit in school for these days.

Spellings will be given out on a Monday morning, and will be practiced in school every morning and tested on Friday mornings, alongside our timestables through the use of 'Froggy Maths'.  ALL children are expected to practice both their spellings and timestables (which can be practiced using Timestable rockstars) at home EVERYDAY, as this makes an enormous difference to their work.

ALL children are expected to read at home EVERY DAY and we would like adults at home to listen to them read aloud AT LEAST FOUR TIMES each week. We will be implementing a reward system this year through the use of 'Starbooks', which will see us nominate a 'reader of the month' and a 'most valued reader'. Daily reading makes an enormous difference to their success with both Reading and Writing. We will let you know if your child's reading or spelling is falling behind where it should be in order that you can help them to catch up through extra work at home.

Homework will be set every week on a Friday and will be expected to be returned by Wednesday.

Thank you for your support!

Please feel free to contact me at any time with any issues or questions.

Many Thanks,

Miss Hudson smiley
